CRASH Course is open to students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior year in high school and have an interest in a nursing career.
How do you choose applicants?
We have an application process that involves your parents, your school, and you. We look at the applications and evaluate the recommendations, the essay, and the student's school performance in attendance and discipline. We try to place every student who qualifies.
How will I know where to go and what to do?
We have several professional nurses that will guide you and help you while you are involved in CRASH Course. You will be assigned a nurse to help you and answer questions you may have.
Who will I meet at CRASH Course?
Aside from making great new friends, campers will meet nurses from several backgrounds and specialties, doctors, radiologists, lab technicians and more. Because campers will spend much of their time at the hospital, campers also will meet real patients, of course.
If I am interested in radiology, lab, or pharmacy can I still attend CRASH Course?
While we would like everyone who attends the camp to look at nursing, the reality is that the camp will provide you insight into all hospital-based professions, not just nursing. Baptist strongly encourages anyone interested in a health care-based profession to apply to the camp.
How much does it cost?
The best part is CRASH Course is offered at no cost to campers. A generous grant from the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation covers all camp expenses. So, whats your excuse? Space is limited, so apply now!
